Because NH residents should know their gas-heated homes are safe

First Public Hearing for House Bill #1711

Comments from the Luhrmann Family

Amilia’s Law.org applauds the industry for training, but is primarily concerned with the many individuals who hire untrained professionals, either knowingly or through subcontracting. Heating companies already train their employees and pass the cost along to their consumers. Other tradesmen, such as plumbers or contractors, handymen interested in participating in fuel gas fitting would need to take the required classes for certification and licesing. It is assumed, these costs would be passed on to the consumer, as is done by heating contractors.

The fiscal note would be covered by the license fees. It is estimated that yearly licensing fees would be less than $100 per year.
