Amilia's law

Because NH residents should know their gas-heated homes are safe

Why Do We Need This Bill?

  • Today’s voluntary certification does not protect you, since your builder and contractors have the option to use anyone they want to work on your gas system. They might believe a certain individual could do the work (i.e., putting pipes together) but this worker might not know the Code and proper procedures to ensure a safe system.
  • This Bill will require mandatory training and licensing. You will know that licensed workers have been taught how to properly install or repair your gas system and make sure it is safe.
  • In New Hampshire, plumbers are required to be licensed to work with water and waste systems, but not with explosive gas fueled systems. See Plumber licensing statute.
